271. Sports Illustrated

Sports Illustrated was made for a great-nephew. He lives in Minnesota and loves sports. This pattern by Lindsey Neill of Pen and Paper Patterns seemed like the perfect way to highlight sports-themed fabric, like snapshots from those old Polaroid cameras.

First I made sure I had fabric representing all the professional teams in Minnesota. Then I scoured my stash for anything sports related, some camping prints, etc.

Making the camera block was really fun. Lindsey has creative and well-written patterns.

I did include one California team, the Los Angeles Dodgers. You can see it right there above the camera.
The backing is a print that looks like football "play" illustrations.

We took it to the local photo shop, Horn Photo. It's not the best photo, but it was fun anyway.
