This quilt was made for Maggie Harper because she lost the bid on the original Amish Shoofly. I made hers brighter--out of batiks--and larger.

41. Amish Shoofly

My first MCC donation quilt. 

The first quilt I had professionally photographed by Aaron Mullins at Mullins Studio.

The first surprise was that it was one of the quilts hung in the front.

The second surprise was that it was auctioned for the highest amount this year, $3400, purchased by Ruth Heinrichs' sister.

40. Stop the Recount

 I loved the fabrics individually--but wasn't especially happy with the finished quilt. So since the colors were Oregon Ducks colors (well, almost), I added a fun backing (license plates from almost every state but Oregon!) and gifted it to Derek Stutzman, who lived with us spring semester 2003.
