88. Peas and Carrots

This is the only photo I have of this baby quilt for Aaron and Tracy Bryan (Aaron is Christa's brother). It was made during a Quilters Paradise quilt retreat at Bass Lake, using the Peas and Carrots fabric line by American Jane.

87. I Wish I Wish I'd Catch a Fish

I thought this panel was so cute. For the nine-patch blocks surrounding the panel, I used a technique from the book 9-Patch Pizzazz by Judy Sisneros where you try to blend some of the nine-patch blocks together.

Jason and Jill requested a black and white quilt for their wedding.

85. Derek and Julie Stutzman

For their wedding quilt, Derek requested red, black and white, and as he played the violin, I included a lot of music-related fabric and a "piano keys" border. They were both teachers so I included the cursive fabric. Derek lived with us for a semester so this was especially fun to make for them.

84. Jennifer's Favorite Things

If there was a quilt pattern that Jennifer Ogawa despised, it was Just Can't Cut It. I could never figure out why. But inexplicably, she did NOT like it at all. So when her 40th birthday rolled around, Susan Harper, Maggie Harper and I decided that of course we would make her a quilt and of course we would use the pattern, Just Can't Cut It. She would HAVE to like it, right? After all, it was made by her good friends.

Her family had planned a surprise brunch, where we had a good time gifting the quilt to her. And she DID love it.

(I think Maggie was out of town and unable to attend the celebration)

83. Pink and Brown

Charlotte's first room in Fresno was pink and brown. This quilt had lots of fun ribbons and rickrack sewn into the blocks, and the backing was the softest Minkee.

Apparently she liked to hang out underneath her bed.
