213. Winter Walk

Where did the original idea for this quilt come from? My friend, Megan Pruett, and I both loved the quilt pattern, Norm and Nanette, by Elizabeth Hartman.

It has quite a few pairs of these cute gnomes. As cute as they were, neither of us felt like making a whole quilt with them.

I used some of  my very favorite print that looks like actual knitted sweaters.
Megan came up with this great idea of making one pair, and then adding a few other wintry items--trees, mushrooms, etc. Several years ago I made the little gnome carrying a lantern and I decided he probably lived in a mushroom.

She came up with the idea. However, I don't think she has made one at this point.

I added the pinwheel stars to my night sky.

A favorite print by Debbie Kerman-Taylor.
And peppermint binding.

This was such a fun quilt to make. I hope Megan makes a version one of these years.
