269. Strawberry Jam

Every once in awhile I get inspired by something on Instagram. When @sewmaryhappy started posting her scrappy strawberry blocks, and then @woollypetals added a tutorial for setting the blocks together with Irish chain blocks, I was hooked.

I have so much pink in my stash. Oddly enough, it's probably the color I have most of, yet I have never made a pink quilt. I started pulling out my favorite pink prints (no shortage of those!), added some greens and low volumes, and a variety of deep gold prints for the Irish chain.

Making this quilt was so much fun, and I love how it turned out. It is definitely one of my favorite finishes of 2024.

A couple of my favorite fussy cuts...
I still had a lot of pink fabric left when I was done with the front. In my quest to "use it up," I pieced my favorites together for the backing. I spent extra time on the quilt label, using a pattern by Kate Basti.
