My second MCC donation quilt.
First surprise: It hung in the front again! Second surprise: It brought in the third highest donation, $3100. Maggie Harper won the bid this year--so I can visit this quilt anytime I want. To date, my all-time favorite quilt, basically a sampler of Ohio Star blocks and as many variations as I could locate. Again, professionally photographed by Aaron Mullins of Mullins Studio.
I used a great border designed by Binky Brown Takahashi, with a minor variation designed by Mark to make the design go around the corner.
Maggie let me borrow the quilt to enter the Pacific International Quilt Festival in October 2003.
Mike Blomgren and Maggie, and my parents attended the show as well.Judges comments: "Variegated quilting thread helps enhance the blocks and border. Pieced inner border frames the blocks nicely. Machine quilting in pieced blocks would be more effective if it remained in the block."
