276. O Christmas Tree

 

I have always loved this pattern, Pine Hollow, by Amy Smart of Diary of a Quilter.  I took a stack of Christmas prints and non-Christmas fabrics in red, green and black, along to a fall quilting retreat. I'm not normally an "improv" quilter but after one or two failed attempts to make an improv tree, I finally got the hang of it. 

I made some improv stars as well. The wavy quilting pattern was a good choice.

The Christmas cowboy boots and the red and black leopard print are fun additions.

Red minky on the back--so soft, and black and white gingham binding.
