127. Ghastlie Halloween

Ah, the Ghastlies. If you know you know.

Moda came up with a fabulous pattern called Modern Building Blocks that combined blocks in sizes as large as 36" to as small as 6". I have never been a Halloween fan but I had some Ghastlies fabric. The Ghastlies always look very cranky to me, so I pulled out all my green, purple, orange, black and gray fabric, and started sewing.

Scrap sewing is a messy job. And I get obsessed once I begin. But it's just sew much fun.

I posted progress pictures along the way.

My favorite block:

One foggy morning I took the quilt across the street and hung it in our neighbor's tree, just because it looked kind of spooky.

A couple of years it graced the bed in our cabin at Huntington Lake during the fall.
It was the quilt chosen for the month of November of my first calendar, Quilts and Classics.
