124. First Call for Fall

First Call for Fall for an experiment in using different substrates in one quilt: Kona cotton, Oakshott and Essex linen. 


 The design was inspired by this logo.

The thing I love most about this quilt is that the design looks more complex than it actually is. Here is the block. I added the center square because there was just too much negative space in the logo.

Four blocks together. Can you see the "secret" now? It is a sashing strip with the addition of that dark block in the middle. Easy peasy.
This was a fun and very simple quilt to make.


And it was included in an issue of Modern Patchwork.
